In Grandmother's Cottage
  You cautiously approach your grandmother's bedroom, remembering the time
she smacked you good for interrupting her nap.  The hallway is lined in a
deep red carpet, and broad windows let in the sunlight and fresh air.  There
is no clutter about this place, as if the one who lives here can't stand to
be crowded. 

[ Exits: south west ]
(Golden Aura) Little Red Riding Hood, ignoring all the flashing neon signs, gives her grandmother a hug.

Little Red Riding Hood sinks slowly to the ground, clutching the
fatal wound you gave her.
Little Red Riding Hood says, "Take my hood,' she says, 'so that I may haunt you forever through the blood that has dyed it red."

 A voice from the audience calls out, 'Well, brown actually.  It
might be red right now, but give it a day or two and it will be crusty,
just like this dialog!'  Red jumps up, furious, and calls for security,
who haul the offender out.  Too bad he's already ruined the
dramatics of the scene.
You receive a red riding hood from Little Red Riding Hood.

Mother's House (G)
  This cozy little house set in the outskirts of the forest reminds you of
your mother's house.  Clean, well-tended, and lovingly decorated, the whole
place smells like apple pie and atomizer mist.  The shelves are set with
knick-knacks of kittens and birds and other rather ridiculous objects.

(Golden Aura) (White Aura) Mrs. Riding Hood sends her daughter to Grandmother's house.
Mrs. Riding Hood says, "Oh, you're here!  Well, then, you can take a basket of goodies to your grandmother, the poor darling.  Why she insists on living in the middle of that forest, I'll never know."

She clucks and shakes her head, reminding you of a particularly dyslexic chicken.

Mrs. Riding Hood exclaims, "Mind that you don't pick out the best pieces for yourself.  If you do, the wolf will come out of the forest and bite your fingers off!"

She giggles madly, and turns back to her knitting.  Taking a close look at what
she's making, you notice it's a design of wolves eating young children.
This is the sort of mother more children should have!
You receive a basket of treats from Mrs. Riding Hood.

In The Dark Forest
  You finally enter a small clearing in the forest.  Dark trees surround
the clearing, and heavy branches soar overhead, blocking out all sight of
the sky.  The clearing is bare of grass, but mold growth and a profusion of
mushrooms and toadstools carpet the ground.

You wear a red riding hood on your head.

You give a map to grandmother's house to a wolf.
A wolf leers at you and licks his lips hungrily.
A wolf says, "My, what a tasty little morsel you are, my dear.  And where are you heading this cold, overcast day."

He giggles to himself and sidles nearer.
A wolf exclaims, "So, you're heading to your grandmother's house, little one?  With a basket of goodies for her and your own, scrumptious bod.  Mind if I walk with you?  Wait!  No, on second thought, I have an...err...errand to run.  You'll excuse me if I don't stay!"

He bolts off, taking your map with him.
Fortunately, it's not far now to your grandmother's house, and the trail is
clearly marked.  What a strange individual he was.  You step forward and trip
over a pair of boots the wolf must have dropped...
You receive a red riding hood from a wolf.
A wolf drops a pair of leather boots.

You get a pair of leather boots.

You wear a pair of leather boots on your feet.
You wear a red riding hood on your head.

In Grandmother's Cottage
  You finally find your grandmother's cottage, deep within the dark forest.
You're not sure why anyone would build their cottage out here, so far away
from civilization, and so far from the safety of others.  Your grandmother
always was a little eccentric, but your mother would never explain some of
her odder quirks.

(Golden Aura) My, what big fangs grandmother has...

You say 'My, what big eyes you have'

Grandmother grins at you menacingly.
Grandmother says, "Little girl of little wit.  Indeed, the old songs are correct.  My eyes are large to pierce the night.  The woodsman, fool that he is, will trouble us no longer.  His wolfsbane was old and weak, and his corpse lies in the forest now, throat torn from ear to ear."

Grandmother exclaims, "I am the old one, you must face me alone.  Take on your true form, granddaughter, and feel the blood pound through your veins as you howl on the hunt.  Oh, my dear foolish child, feel the ancient powers take hold of you!"

The wolfen shape in front of you gestures, and you feel your body start to
twist out of shape.
You receive a pair of wolf eyes from Grandmother.
You receive a wolf nose from Grandmother.

You wear a pair of wolf eyes on your eyes.
You wear a wolf nose on your head.

In Grandmother's Cottage
  The hallways are lined with more than just carpet.  Deep crimson blood
pools in the corners, and the iron tang of fresh blood fills your senses. 
Outside, you can hear the howling of many wolves, and screaming, far off in
the distance.  The entire surreal scene reminds you of a painting you once
saw.

(Golden Aura) A wolf, dressed in a nightgown, smiles sweetly at you and licks its chops.

You say 'My, what big teeth you have'

pity.
A wolf exclaims, "Your mother tried, we all know that.  But there comes a time when every child in our family must be sent here for the test.  And you, my dearest, most foolish grandchild, you gave directions to your grandmother's house to a stranger with a wolfish grin.  Your blood conceals great secrets, child, and you have failed the test!"

The form before you seems to throw off its human guise, twisting
into a shape too familiar to you!  The wolf growls deep in its
throat and attacks!

You get wolf teeth from the frazzled corpse of a wolf.

You give wolf teeth to a weasel.
A weasel asks, "Are you sure these aren't dentures?"

The weasel taps the teeth against the side of the pot and frowns.
A weasel exclaims, "What's this?!?  Glue?!!  These ARE dentures!"

A weasel says, "Well, if the spell dumps you in the wrong court, don't blame me."

A weasel exclaims, "I warned you, you bastards!  I did!  Right!  That does it!"

The weasel blinks and then peers around himself, and then tosses the teeth into the pot.
A weasel boggles, "What?  Where was I?  Who are you?!"

A weasel exclaims, "Right!"

A weasel sits down and thinks deeply. 
A weasel says, "What?  Next quest?  Hmm, let me remember."

A weasel says, "Oh yes, the golden charm from the troll.  You know, the one what hates goats."

A weasel says, "Fetch forth the fromage de la troll!  Or something like that."
